Amongst a sea of negativity regarding murmurings of the cancellation of Christmas and the unavailability of Christmas Markets, I am pleased to announce a one-day event on the 5th December, from 10.00am to 4.00pm, that will enhance gift-shopping needs for many people. Newton Abbot Racecourse has decided to turn their 80 stables into a one-day Christmas Fayre, utilising one stable for each participant. Within days of the announcement all stables were fully booked, such is the scarcity of suitable outdoor events for Christmas 2020. Newton Abbot Racecourse is well known and well respected for its organised events and it is guaranteed to be a spectacular festive occasion, but please be assured, all the coronavirus restrictions will be adhered to.
Determined to meet up with my readers new and old, I have been fortunate in securing a stable and I’ll be there selling and signing my full range of books with Special Offers, similar to those available on my website. I'll also have available a wide range of magnetic bookmarks — always a firm favourite at this time of year. I read an interesting article yesterday which claimed that since the pandemic lockdowns, sales of printed books have rocketed. This is great news for both readers and writers and hopefully this trend will encourage more children to discover the delight of reading a physical book.
