Only a week ago I was filled with optimism about the forthcoming Newton Abbot Christmas Fayre. Sadly, due to the second national lockdown, it has been cancelled. Boris Johnson made a promise this would only last for four weeks, which shouldn’t interfere with the timing of the fayre, but the organisers don’t want to take the risk, such is their belief in the word of a politician.
Although many stores will be closed, including bookstores, I am happy to post- free in UK and personally sign any of my books. Reading printed books is on the increase, due no doubt to lockdowns around the country. Losing yourself in a good read lowers tension and lifts the spirit.
